Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse is a FIFA-accredited soccer agent. She became the only female FIFA agent in South Africa in 2009 after founding a sports management company in 2007.

Karabo worked through the ranks in a male-dominated industry to become one of the best soccer agents in Africa.

She has an inspiring story only a few people can tell. At 21, she was the only female soccer agent in Africa.

Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse was born in Orlando East, Soweto, South Africa. She grew up in Soweto, where she experienced her childhood and attended school.

Karabo’s father is Ruby Mathang. He worked as the MMC of Economic Development for the City of Johannesburg.

When she was young, Karabo watched football matches with her father. The excitement in the sport made her fall in love with soccer at a young age.

After high school, Karabo Mathang attended the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), a public research university in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations.

Karabo returned to the same university in 2014 and enrolled for a Bachelor of Law.

Her love for football led her to sports management

Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse started working when she was 13. She did small jobs in retail and radio. But because she was a teenager, she had not figured out what she wanted to do in the future.

Besides, Karabo never dreamt of becoming a soccer agent. But it is worth noting that she is a soccer fan who spent her weekends watching games with friends at university.

She had an amazing group of friends who helped her start P Management. The P stands for Player, Professional, or Promotso, meaning comfort.

After forming P Management, Karabo began coaching clinics to accumulate money. At 21, she became a SAFA and FIFA-accredited soccer agent, making it easier for her to represent soccer players.

The accreditation also made put her in the professional league of sports agents in South Africa.

P Management handles player contracts and negotiates terms with soccer clubs in South Africa. The company has represented many top players, including:

  • Justin Shonga of Zambia
  • Tendai Ndoro from Zimbabwe
  • Amanda Dlamini, who is South African.

As of 2023, P Management represents:

  • Monnapule Saleng of Orlando Pirates
  • Yusuf Maart of Kaizer Chiefs
  • Thembinkosi Lorch of Orlando Pirates
  • Cassius Mailula of Mamelodi Sundowns FC
  • Somila Ntsundwana of Richards Bay FC.

In 2014, Karabo Mathang returned to school and enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws.

When she became a lawyer, Karabo went to work for the Bowmans Law Firm in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa, as an associate in 2020.

She would later start her company, Tshabuse Law, in 2021.

Tshabuse Law is a boutique law firm specialising in mediation, litigation, corporate commercial, employment, and sports law.

Karabo Mathang is married with two children

In her late 30s, Karabo Mathang is married and has two children. Her husband is Josy Tshabuse.

Karabo and Josy met around 2007 when she studied at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. The duo loved football and watched it over the weekends at the university.

Karabo and Josy formed P Management, a sports management company. After working together and becoming business partners, they groomed their romance and finally became a couple.

Karabo and Josy eventually married. As a result, Karabo took Josy’s surname, Tshabuse. As of 2023, the couple has two daughters.
