As a result, he made history as the youngest player to ever play for Barcelona in La Liga. Since his debut, Yamal has attracted a lot of interest worldwide.

Lamine Yamal spent his early years in Esplugues de Llobregat and Granollers

Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Barcelona in La Liga and the Spanish men’s national team.

He was born on 13 July 2007 in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Spaniard grew up in Rocafonda, a working-class neighbourhood in Mataro, the largest town in Maresme, Barcelona.

Lamine Yamal’s family briefly lived in Granollers, a city in central Catalonia. After that, he relocated to La Masia, where he currently lives.

He has Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean roots

Lamine Yamal’s parents are Mounir Nasraoui (father) and Sheila Ebana (mother). His father is Moroccan, and his mother is Equatorial Guinean.

Thus, Lamine Yamal’s ethnicity is multiracial. The Barcelona prospect has Moroccan, Equatorial Guinean, and Spanish descent.

In May 2023, Yamal’s father insulted and threatened the militants of a political party. The events happened in Mataro during a campaign in the town.

After the incident, the authorities charged Mounir Nasraoui with crimes of threats, injuries, and public disorder. The court subsequently fined him 546 Euros for minor crimes and 110 Euros for damages.

As a Moroccan, Lamine Yamal’s father’s religion is Islam. In April 2023, an image of Lamine’s family appeared online. The image showed some family members wearing hijab or burqa, indicating they were Islam.

While the Barcelona player has not indicated his religion, Yamal is religious based on how he celebrates by pointing towards the sky and expressing his gratitude to God.

He has two siblings

The identity of Lamine Yamal’s siblings has remained a mystery since he rarely speaks about them.

However, a look at Instagram photos uploaded by his father shows he has a brother and sister. His brother’s name is Keyne Yamal, and his sister’s is Baraa Yamal.

Lamine is the youngest-ever goal scorer for the Spanish national team

Lamine Yamal can represent three national teams. He can represent Morocco, where his father was born; Equatorial Guinea, where his mother was born; and Spain, where he was born.

In 2022, a scout of the Moroccan Federation scouted Lamine while playing for Barcelona B. However, the player had already debuted for Spain Under 15 in 2021.

Yamal chose to play for Spain over other countries. He has also played for Spain Under 16, 17, and 19.

On 1 September 2023, he received his first senior international call-up for Spain’s national team. He debuted for Spain against Georgia on 8 September 2023.

Lamine Yamal scored on his debut for Spain in the 74th minute and helped his national team clinch a 7-1 victory. His debut and goal made him Spain’s youngest-ever player and goal scorer.

Lamine Yamal started his football journey at Barcelona’s La Masia. His youth career started in 2014 with Barcelona. During the 2022/23 season, he made three appearances for Barca B.

Finally, on 29 April 2023, Yamal debuted for Barcelona in La Liga during the 2022/23 season. It is more likely that he will play more games in the 2023/24 season, as he has been selected in the first team.
