The former footballer was born in Gennevilliers, France, on 8 November 1980. His nationality is dual, as he holds citizenship in both Senegal and France.

However, Diomansy Kamara’s parents influenced his decision to represent his motherland, Senegal, and he has featured in three editions of the African Cup of Nations.

His football career was also prolific, as it saw him travel extensively across countries such as Italy, England, Scotland, Turkey, and India, featuring in their respective leagues.

Growing up in Paris, Diomansy quickly fell in love with football and soon joined Red Star Club, where he began his career.

Shortly afterwards, he joined Catanzaro in the 1999–20 season, scoring nine times in 34 appearances before he signed for Modena. 

At the club, he impressed with agility and speed, scoring 15 goals, and soon caught the attention of English clubs. Portsmouth was the first English club to come calling, signing him in 2004 for a fee of £2.5 million.

Diomansy Kamara’s transfer deals include one of his career highlights when London club Chelsea signed one of his players, Nicolas Jackson, for a £32 million move.

The former Villareal player almost signed for Italian giants AC Milan, his agent Diomansy Kamara has revealed. 

Jackson had a $30 million release clause in his contract, which AC Milan were willing to match, but Chelsea, vastly interested in the Senegalese, outbid the Italians.

He impressed for the Yellow Submarines in the 2021-22 La Liga campaign, netting 12 goals and providing five assists. Jackson, so far, has 1 goal for the Blues in the 2023-24 Premier League campaign.
